Audi RS3 Sportback facelift gains 33hp | No word on brake issues

Madness

Who would have guessed that the longterm effect of competition in the hot hatch segment would result in an Audi RS3 Sportback with 400 metric horsepower? I suppose we all did in our daydreams, especially during annoyingly long corporate meetings. Well, that specific dream just came true.

We'll get the bad stuff out of the way first: Audi does not mention a single word concerning the brake problems reported for the pre-facelift model. They do however mention that ceramics are optional and that the front discs measure 310mm, the size of a medium pizza at your local Domino's.

Climbing 33hp, the 2.5-liter engine now pushes out 400hp, a number Ferraris offered just 15 years ago. Performance is also near what exotics used to offer over a decade ago, the Audi RS3 Sportback hits a hundred in just 4.1 seconds and won't stop untill the 280kph limiter kicks in (which you'll have to pay for, else you'll be stuck at a peasant-speed of 250).

Exterior changes speak for themselves, but the concept of 'practical supercar' remains unchanged with Audi's conservative styling. Don't worry about not being to differentiate the pre-facelift from the facelift, they're not hitting the road untill August.
