Rolls Royce Dawn is official

A dirty war has been prolonged with the release of this car, a dirty high class-war that is. Rolls Royce has delivered the second blow by launching the all-new Dawn.

The Dawn follows in a line of great ancestors that fought competition valiantly in the past, cars like the Silver Spirit and the Drophead Coupe are predecessors of this new model. A model that should be seen as the roofless version of the Wraith, hence adopting many of its technological specifications. It does lose its sharp lines the Wraith poses but compensates that with the wooden 'rear deck'.

Specs

The car weighs a massive 2.560 kilograms and all that weight gets shot around by the 6,6 liter V12. In this current trim, it boasts 563 horsepower and 780 nm of torque, which in term launches the model to a hundred in just 4,9 seconds. The transmission is the famous 8-speed automatic that is paired with a satellite aided transmission. Selecting the right gear for you in anticipation of a corner to come. I wonder if this still works in places like deep Fjords and such, I have to test that one day. According to the German tradition of the 'gentleman agreements,' the car is limited to 250 kilometers an hour.

Interior

Rolls Royce has been creating excellent interiors since the start of the brand and many design traits have found their way into the Dawn. Clean lines, the center clock, perfectly matching, and symmetrical woodwork and the earlier mentioned wooden 'rear deck' are part of this tradition. New technology has been subtly implanted into the car. New infotainment should keep the driver updated on the 'luxury war'. For now,, you'll have to enjoy the media the company has presented to us, a few photos and a video, but next week we'll provide you with live photos from the IAA.
