Mercedes E-Class facelift gets mild-hybrid technology
The current Mercedes-Benz E-Class provides a plug-in hybrid version, 300e and 300de. The facelifted version will get 2 new engines extra with a 48-volt mild-hybrid technology.
Let's started with the plug-in hybrid versions, 300e and 300de, that will get a four-wheel drive-system instead of rear-wheel drive. Next to that, all the E-Classes will get external and internal changes. New head- and rear lights in combination with other bumper work will give the new E a refreshed outside.
On the inside, the Mercedes-Benz E-Class can enjoy two 10,25-inch digital screens and an improved system that can recognize traffic lights, road signs and even house numbers. The blind-spot detection can now see bikers and pedestrians, while the car can drive semi-automatic up to a speed of 60 km/h.
The biggest news! The two new engines with mild-hybrid technology. The first one, a 2.0-liter four-cylinder, gets a 48-volt board voltage producing 272 hp and an extra 20 hp thanks to the electric boost. The second engine is a 3.0-liter six-in-line with the same engine boost good for 367 hp and 20 hp extra.
We can expect the berline and station this summer.
