Maserati Levante Trofeo, the Ferrari of SUV's

Maserati revealed the Levante Trofeo featuring a 590 hp Ferrari 3.8L V8. It's the Ferrari of SUV's, for now at least.

We've been very praising about the Maserati Levante so what better way to make it better than adding more power to it? That's the Levante Trofeo.

The Maserati Levante Trofeo is the most power Maserati in the current range. With 590 hp and 730 Nm’s coming from a Ferrari developed 3.8L V8 it’s also Maserati’s highest specific output per liter engine ever made (156 hp/L). The engine is a reworked version of the one that can be found in the Quattroporte GTS but it’s now adapted to fit to the Q4 intelligent all-wheel drive system while new turbochargers increase airflow towards the engine. This allows the car to go from 0 to 100 kmh in 3.9 seconds, the only SUV’s that are faster are the Cayenne Turbo S and Grand Cherokee TrackHawk.

The Levante Trofeo has also been changed on the outside. New front fascia features full matrix LED headlights, double vertical bars in piano black, a carbon fiber splitter and carbon fiber side intakes. At the rear is a new carbon fiber diffusor with oval exhaust tips in a black finish. A new hood extracts more hot air from the engine, new carbon fiber side skirts are present, new 22-inch “Orione” wheels and to top it off: new Trofeo logos on the C-pillars. All this gives the Levante Trofeo a polished racing look.

The sculpted sports seats provide great lateral support and feature a Trofeo logo stitched onto the headrest. Other signature Levante Trofeo touches are the matte carbon trim, paddle shifters, a unique instrument cluster, Trofeo style pedals and a standard 1,280 Watt 17-speaker Bowers & Wilkins surround sound audio system.

The fastest Levante will hit production this summer and is initially only for overseas markets like the U.S. and Canada. Wether or not it'll be available in Europe is still looked into but for now this is the fastest Ferrari powered SUV you can get until the Maranello guys lift the covers off of their project.
