Jaguar XF Sportbrake Revealed | Germans Beware
More space, more style and a faster AWD-system
Jaguar left very little to the imagination while teasing their latest Sportbrake, yet they still manage to surprise with the new XF chassis. As it is showing lines that makes you wonder why a soul would even opt for the sedan, the brand new Jaguar XF Sportbrake looks to be be another success for the English car-builder.
“It’s better-looking than the saloon, I think,” - Callum.
Beyond the dimensions and the 50/50 weight distribution, the XF Sportbrake doesn't bring that much new hardware onto the playing field. The car will benefit from all the engines on offer for the sedan (review here), meaning that 3-liter, 700Nm 6-cylinder can also be hooked up to this Jaguar. Mate it with their updated AWD, one that can throw torque forward in just 250 milliseconds, and this XF seems like an ideal companion for long drives throughout the year.
Sportbrake chassis are all about cargo-hauling and the XF gets air suspension at the back to leave more room for that spacious goal. It has 1700 litres of space with the seats folded down, just under that of the BMW 5 Touring. Then again, that car is around 4000 euros more expensive in its base form. Choices, the XF Sportbrake makes them harder (in a very good way).
