Huracan LP580-2 drifts into Brussels

The Huracan LP580-2 sets foot on a European motor show for the first time, the Brussels Auto Salon that is.

Out and about for a few weeks now, the purist Lamborghini Huracan LP580-2 model had yet to make an official appearance on the continent of its origin. 'Purist' refers to the drivetrain of the latest Lamborghini to come drifting out of the factory, as this follows in line with the Balboni Gallardo formula, being RWD. A loss in weight and grip resulted in a slightly less powerful V10 as it was deemed to much to keep it safe in the ‘610’ trim.

LP 580-2

On display in Brussels is a yellow LP580-2 with black high gloss rims, a typical show configuration. Accompanied by the Spyder LP610-4 variant, both models are the updated model year 2016 versions. At a first glance you can spot the difference on the front end, where the alterations are most visible due to a reworked front bumper. The cutout lines of the headlight now run deeper into the bumper giving a more aggressive look. Other than that front bumper, that car has gone little esthetical alternations. The car was more impressive in the flesh to me than on the press images, a growing trend in the failing advertisement of manufacturers. As the official drive event was held in the States for a very select group of journalist, we think the odds of us ever driving one are small but that doesn’t stop me from trying.
