Corvette Grand Sport bringing 'Merica to Geneva

The Americans have their own fair share of performance in Geneva. One of them is the Corvette Grand Sport, a cross between stingray and Z06 coming to rag the european sportscars.

The Corvette has been the cheap sportcar for choice when you wanted a big V8. Only downside was that you got a medieval suspension and an interior trim not much better than a GTR.

With the current C7 however, things have changed. The car has been fitted with sophisticated suspension and the interior is filled with nice leather. All of this is achieved whilst still retaining its low price.
Coming into the Geneva Motorshow is the mid range Corvette Grand Sport. It features the same chassis and similar looks to it's bigger brother the Z06.

The Corvette Grand Sport is still propelled by the naturally aspirated LT1 V8 pushing out 460 hp through a manual seven speed or an automatic eight speed.
Fitted with sticky Michelin Pilot Super Sports this car can pull 1.2G's in cornering. If you'd like it a bit more hardcore there's an optional Z07 package which adds carbon ceramic brakes and Pilot Sport 2 Cup tires. The car is expected to go on sale in the U.S. this summer, no words yet about Europe but we should expect them to come a bit later. The car presented at Geneva is the Collectors Edition which is painted in Watkins Glen Gray with Tension Blue hash marks, satin black stripes, black wheels, and a blue full leather and suede interior. Only 1.000 units will be built.
What would be your choice in the Corvette lineup? The base Stingray, the Grand Sport or the full bonkers Z06?
