2018 Mercedes-Benz G-Class Spied Near Green Hell

A new body, same face for the 2018 Mercedes-Benz G-Class.

How do you replace a car that hasn't really changed since it came out over 30 years ago? That's a question Mercedes-Benz is trying to answer with their iconic Gelandewagen. Their answer isn't finished yet but their efforts are showing. Showing up near the Green Hell in fact, as that's where I managed to photograph the 2018 Mercedes-Benz G-Class.

1979 is when the Geländewagen made its bedut, it never gained a new chassis but has seen many configurations since. One of the most recent one being the G500 Squared, on which you'll find our review here. But the time for that chassis has come to make way for its succesor.

Very little is known about the 2018 Mercedes-Benz G-Class but it is obvious that the looks will barely change. It will also become lighter, and that's about all that's out there right now. But in line with the conservatory looks, the engines will undoubtedly form a similar statement to what this car has always been: unique.
