Two and a half day at Corse Clienti – Part 3

Yesterday I wrote about the second part of our trip to Spa and now I present you with part three of three.

You might have read that I left spa and the Corse Clienti the day before, but Beau stayed the second day of the Corse Clienti. They told me their story afterward and I’ll try to translate it for you the best I can. They told me that before heading to the track, they first dropped by the city center to look for the Orange LaFerrari of the yellow/red FXX K owner. They got lucky as later that day, they would actually get to do a photoshoot with that unique LaFerrari. Stan told me he could barely get enough of seeing the orange color, he found it ugly at first and noticed that looking at it longer actually made him appreciate it, even in the early hours. We have yet to determine the hallucinogenic properties of the color tough. After some spots, the guys moved back to the track and with anticipation, the weather had cleared up.

Difference

This day was different according to Beau, the whole driver’s field had different energy surrounding them. Less fear, more focussed and because of a wet/disappointing day in their memory, this day would promise to be very interesting. With the guys being a few hours earlier than the day before, they were far more flexible in their planning. There was time for a wide variety of shots for video and photography, allowing panning shots to be taken at around 1/30 of a second. Beau got more footage of the cars flying by, a lot harder than the day before. The drivers showed more balls, slid off more, and played around far more. There was even an FXX K stopping halfway the track in front of spectators to showoff an acceleration from standstill.

Childhood memories

Beau is our man for motorsports as he literally has been raised to love cars, his father is a die-hard petrolhead and took him to the F1 races when Beau was growing up. You know the ones with V8’s, V10’s and V12’s, yeah those that made your ears bleed. The day before had shown little action of these beasts, that after retiring end up in the Corse Clienti program, but this day was different again. All 3 mentioned before showed themselves out on the track this day, screaming out loud as they were dragged through the gears and rotations. I suppose you and me both can only imagine the smile Beau must have had that day. The day drew to an end and Beau walked towards the pits for the last time. They glared at the stratified faces of the drivers and concluded that this had been an excellent day for everyone. Till next time Corse Clienti.
