Spettacolo Sportivo, basically Alfa Romeo heaven

What started out as an Alfa Romeo owners club meeting has now become international.

Spettacolo Sportivo Alfa Romeo is held annually at the circuit of Zandvoort. In short SSAR is a gathering of Alfa owners with some gorgeous cars on display and track demos pleasing to the ear. As every year, I attended.

The last couple of years the number of visitors grew to numbers so high the organisation had to randomly choose which cars would be allowed to the paddock. Although the Spettacolo is held in The Netherlands, cars came from all over Europe.

Notably was the Pogea Racing 4C Centurion. It definitely stood out over the majority of Alfa 4Cs. This specific car was upgraded to Stage 1 Plus, which means it has 313 PS, tipping the scale at a mere 895 kilos. All in all, SSAR is a great impression of the brand’s history. There is no other spot I’ve ever been to where you can see cars like the Tubolare Zagatos and 155 DTM ‘in action’ again, except for Arese of course.
