The New Range Rover Sport and The iX M60 | A CJ Christmas Car-ol

Each year we go on a journey to find Santa some of the most fitting cars he can use to aid him in bringing presents all around the world. We've had some great candidates over the last few years, and it's always a challenge to find new ones.

Luckily we've found some great candidates again this year: Our resident CJ car, the BMW 1 Series M Coupé, the BMW iX M60, and the newest Range Rover Sport First Edition. Coincidently our Christmas special this year has an all-BMW power line-up.

Santa's Sleigh

An all-BMW line-up? Well, the Range Rover Sport is a first edition, which currently is the only model that comes with a V8. But gone is the old supercharged 5.0L V8 everyone adorned. It's now replaced with a turbocharged 4.4L V8, hmmm where have we seen that before? Its V8 pushes out 530 hp and 750 Nm, similar power as the outgoing one. But in this setup, it is a lot more rocking around the Christmas tree and efficient in the process.

Santa said he doesn’t want a lot for Christmas, there’s just one thing. All he wants for Christmas is a bigger sleigh! Well, coming in at 647L, trunk space is nearly as large as the outgoing bigger Range Rover. And with a whopping 1491L with the seats folded down, it's plenty enough to fit some larger wishes.

Rudolph The Red Nosed IX

The second car in our line-up this year is the BMW iX M60, the top-of-the-line EV from BMW that has received a shot of performance in its dual-motor setup. The perfect replacement for that old reindeer we all know, Rudolph! At the age 83 I think it’s time for him to retire, that poor sick red nosed animal! The iX M60 is not your ordinary reindeer, it’s like Rudolph on steroids. Thanks to BMW’s fifth-gen EV motors it now produces 619 hp and a whopping 1.100 Nm of torque. That comes in very handy when trying to slow down the earth's rotation and extend the time you have to deliver all these presents.

The iX shoots away like a prancing reindeer that waited all year to stretch its legs, it’s magnificent! Shift the iX into launch control, and it'll start shaking its legs, uh, wheels to tell you it's excited to fly out of the starting blocks. HO HO HO, let it snow! With this fast electrified reindeer Santa can deliver all the presents around the world In just a few hours! However, the iX is still a massive car to navigate the tighter streets. And due to all that extra power, you're losing 67 km of range compared to the iX xDrive50, which does give you a lot of extra charging time.

The Solution?

Bring in a more agile buck to hit downtown whilst the new Rudolph is sipping its fresh soy-fast charge during the most wonderful time of the year.

Enter our trusted CJ 1 Series M Coupé, the short-wheel-base we'll dub Comet. The fast and agile 1 Series is perfect for the tighter and denser populated areas where Rudolph would get stuck and also where fast chargers are few.
And whilst being a small coupé, it does still manage to haul around quite some extra stuff if Santa’s sleigh is extra loaded this year.

However, it does require a stern hand on the wheel from Santa as the 1M can get a bit too excited from time to time and break loose.

The JOY of The Holiday Spirit

Joy is in the little things that are often overlooked. All three of these cars are about discovering the Beautiful Magic Within. It often hides in the smallest corners but will put a smile on your face at just the right moment.

Here's to joyful holidays and an even better 2023!
