Alfa Romeo’s ‘Tributo Italiano’ is full of passion

You’re having a delicious Italian dinner, pizza to be precise. Outside the sun is setting and there’s Eros Ramazzotti playing in the background. It’s just… something is not right. It might be the boring german sedan sitting on the driveway, or the fact that all you see outside is boring Belgian countryside. Well, our half-Italian man Tommy has found you the solution. We do warn you, there’s a LOT of passion in this article, which makes it almost as unbearable as an Arrabbiata. Andiamo gente!

A tribute to tradition

We all know Italians love tradition; ‘Tributo Italiano’ pays homage to Alfa Romeo's deep roots in Italian culture and automotive history. It symbolizes a celebration of the brand's heritage, craftsmanship, and commitment to innovation—a tribute to the spirit of Italian motoring that has captivated enthusiasts around the globe for generations. So far for the intro, let’s see what new things Alfa has brought to the table with this new line!

Qual è la differenza

The difference is mainly based on aesthetic changes. With this line Alfa wants to emphasise their heritage, and show that they are proud of it. Hence why the three available colors with ‘Tributo Italiano’ are Rosso Alfa, Verde Montreal and Bianco Alfa, forming the colors of the Italian flag!

It’s a theme that we see continuously throughout the car, such as the Italian stripe on both wing mirrors, the red Brembo brake calipers, the embroidered logo on the headrests and much more as we dive into the next paragraph. What immediately caught our attention is the black roof. This makes the car appear much sportier and lower. And it looks much more premium as it creates the illusion of a panoramic roof.

Three colors, for three flagships

Tributo Italiano is available to spec on Alfa’s three outgoing models; the Giulia, Stelvio and Tonale.

We first drove the Stelvio Q4 in the vibrant Verde Montreal. A color that pops in every lighting situation, and has become very popular in the car community again. This combined with the red Brembo brake calipers made for a sporty look (which did their job very well).

Moving onto the interior, it’s finished in beautiful black leather, with the dashboard included! Another great detail coming with this line is the red contrast stitching going across the dash, seats and door-sills. All four seats are perforated in red, to top it off. Oh and the shifting paddles, they’re just amazing. It adds so much drama to spirited driving. (Please note that the interior photo’s beneath are from the Tonale we drove)

But, why?

Is what I asked myself at a certain point. And immediately I found the answer when arriving at our lunch location, where we had delicious pasta and were even taught how to be an amateur barista! Basically, the argument to choose for Tributo Italiano lies in the total package. You shouldn’t be looking at each option individually to decide whether it’s worth it or not. It should be seen as a total package that carries a lot of history and character. This is going to sound cliché, but the line looks and feels very unique, for which I have to applaud Alfa Romeo because that is exactly what they were going for.
