SVR version of F-Type finally reveals its secrets
The wait is finally over as the full press package on the F-Type SVR has been dropped today.
The F-Type SVR already revealed some secrets, secrets about the way it looks and about its performance. And now it's time to put the last of the SVO-pieces of the puzzle into JLR's latest product.
F-Type SVR
Zero to a hundred was already confirmed to be 3.5 seconds, the power was already confirmed to be at 575 PS and 700 Nm but it left me wondering how they managed to shave 0.6 seconds of the zero to a hundred time. As a power increase alone couldn't be responsible for this, SVO must have done more and now we know what.
A weight reduction of 55 kilograms is one of those things that aids in the increased sprinting capabilities and of course overall handling performance. The reduction was mostly achieved by swapping the exhaust with a lighter version and by swapping body panels for carbon fiber parts. Also aiding in the F-Type SVR's potency is a set of wider tyres, 10mm at the front and also 10 mm at the back. Other alterations concerned the obvious rework of the body, resulting in a lower drag coefficient and increased cooling. The ZF automatic wasn't left alone either and has been further optimised for the F-Type SVR.
Order books are opened as of now with prices starting at 142.000 euros for the coupe and 149.000 euros for the convertible.
