McLaren BP23: Codename For Upcoming Hyper-GT, Sketch Included

Who said hypercars are unpractical??

Remember that hype about a spiritual successor to the iconic McLaren F1? Well, that story just got another chapter added by the brand today, and it wears the codename McLaren BP23.

Only a handful of information was released by the brand in the press release about their latest MSO project. Codenamed BP23, it crudely translates into a 3-seater bespoke project for McLaren's MSO department, their second project to be precise. And its unique nature is emphasized by mimicking the 106 unit production-cap of the McLaren F1. Oh, and all are "pre-sold" by the way.

Some new information did pop up in the release though, along side the sketch, as the McLaren BP23 will become "the most powerful and most aerodynamic road-going McLaren ever produced." That's right, this car will become more powerful than the McLaren P1, and that means over 915hp in power. Wether or not they've included the P1 LM in this equation is uncertain but rumors have claimed that the BP23 will exceed the 1000hp mark, their new 4-liter V8 should help achieve that number.

Expected to hit the road in 2019, don't fool yourselves by hoping to see the BP23 any time soon.
