Geneva 2017 | Alpine A110 production model debuts

Long after the revival of the brand was announced in 2012 and after killing the R.S.16 to get it faster into production. The production model of the new Alpine A110 is finally here.

The new rival for the Porsche 718 Cayman, Alfa Romeo 4C and Lotus Elise is finally here. The Alpine A110 is build out of a full aluminium platform and upper body. No expensive use of carbon fiber in this new Frenchie which means it should cost a little bit less than its Italian Rival. That's what we are expecting but Alpine hasn't released any pricing yet.

It uses a mid-engine 1.8L Turbocharged inline-four producing 250hp and 320 Nm's of torque. 0-100 kph should be finished in around 4.5 seconds and the masters from Renault Sport should provide a pretty sweet handeling package. Its aluminum body, weighing just 1103 kilograms, is a testimony to that.

The new Alpine A110 should bring the brand back where it used to be. It's only a matter of time now to see if Renault's gamble pays off by putting Alpine first and letting the Renault Sport fans wait in despair for their R.S.16 or upcoming Mégane RS. We sure hope it does!
