Maserati testing Levante

Levante is the name of the cashcow Maserati is currently developing in secrecy. Keeping your company financially healthy is synonym to SUV these days it seems. Where Porsche has had massive success with the Cayenne other manufacturers can’t ignore this. Jaguar, Bentley, Lamborghini and even Rolls Royce have made it public they are working on their cashcows. ( will Ferrari follow?)

Of course they will all have their distinct brand characteristics and engines for that matter. Maserati hasn’t worn off diesel ( me happy)  in their gamma with the latest models and we can expect a diesel version of the Levante as well. If we look at their latest models interior and exterior wise I don’t feel like we are in for a huge surprise. Safe but elegant design is what I expect.

All versions will have Q4, the FIAT groups word for all wheel drive. Top model? That’s a difficult one to speculate about. CO2 emission rules made the world a whole lot grimmer when it comes to cylinders, estimate is that over 40% of the wild cylinder populations is now extinct.  Price is to be expected to start at 120.000 euros and the release is rumored to be in 2016. As Maserati claimed to have all the things sorted out in 2014 "we just need 2 more years".
