Audi RS5 Receives A Refreshing New Look
The current RS5 is almost 3 years now believe it or not. So Audi decided it was time for a facelift.
It's amazing to think actually because the RS5 still doesn't look a tiny bit old. But Audi decided it needed a small refresh to make it fit in more with the current design language.
The most notable change is the classic Audi Sport Quattro air vents on top of the grille. The wheel arches are 40 mm wider giving the RS5 a distinctive aggressive appearance. The optional matrix headlights with laser beams also feature darkened bezels to create a distinctive visual look from the base A5 models. The large air inlets have been given a new pentagonal look as well.
Furthermore, the side skirts and diffuser have been tweaked to give the RS5 a sharper stance from the back. Finally, the RS5 Coupé gets a carbon-fiber roof which reduces the weight by nearly 4 kilograms and thus lowering the center of gravity.
Performance remains unchanged featuring the same 3.0 V6 pushing out 450 hp and 600 Nm's which should get you to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds and up to an optional top speed of 280 km/h. Not too shabby.
Inside the cockpit receives a new gorgeous Alcantara steering wheel. Next to that, there's a new central screen on the dashboard with a new touch-based interface.
In the optional virtual cockpit, there's also been a redesign and there's an added RS-design screen which activates when you select RS Mode on the steering wheel and will show various things like shift lights, etc.
The RS5 Coupé and Sportback will go on sale in Europe for 83.500€, the question is. Which one would you take?
